Our Program

At All Star Driving Academy

Your 30 hours in the classroom will consist of 4 days of training from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

You can expect to learn:

1. All about signs and why are they so important
2. Traffic laws for Safety – Right of way laws, Speed laws, Traffic Signals and Pavement Markings
3. Controlling your space and why you need a space cushion
4. Basic driving maneuvers
5. Nature's Laws – Understanding Stopping distances – Thinking Distance, Reaction Time and Braking Distance and how the weather can affect them
6. Driving in City Traffic
7. Driving on the Interstate and Highways
8. Sharing the road with others
9. Road Hazards
10. Driver Fitness – How to avoid driver fatigue
11. Alcohol and the affects it will have on you. How to recognize if the other driver is under the influence
12. Owning and maintaining a vehicle

We enhance our course with videos that compliment many segments of our course.

These videos show real life situations and how they can affect your everyday life.

We provide work sheets that will be used as study guides. After completing the course, students will be tested and a score of 80% is required to pass. Once the student has passed we will schedule them to drive. To make it fair for everyone, and to boost the performance level of our class, we schedule driving time by the highest grade. 

Whoever has the highest score drives first.

Each student will drive 4 sessions for 2 hours per session.

Day 1 

We start off in a parking lot, letting them get the feel of the car, then move on to the back roads. Their level of experience will determine if we can go in more traffic areas.

Day 2 

Usually involves heavier traffic areas. The busy streets in Lafayette. Johnston Street, Ambassador Caffery, Kalise Saloom, Pinhook, etc

Day 3 

Full Interstate – Either I -10 or I-49. We teach them how to enter and exit the interstate, How to help others enter the interstate, How to use the acceleration and deceleration lanes, How to keep a space cushion with a proper following distance and How to read the signs to position yourself for the exit.

Day 4 

Mostly in town driving, How to cross 5 lanes of traffic safely, How to use a center lane for left turns, Parking, How to make a "y" turn and Backing. We will touch up on any weaknesses they have, which may include getting on and off the interstate.

We Do Not teach them how to fix a flat tire. 

We spend all 8 hours teaching them to drive safe. 

We Do Not keep them on the back roads driving real slow speeds.

We Do teach them how to drive a safe speed to keep up with the traffic flow.

We want our students to be able to handle most situations in everyday life. 

We teach them how to become a good and safe driver.

But what happens if the other driver is not good?

We teach them how to recognize bad drivers.

We give them the confidence they need to be a safe driver!
